The Biological Institute on Kuroshio (BIK) was established in October, 2001 as a marine biological laboratory of Kuroshio Biological Research Foundation. BIK is located at Nishidomari, Otsuki town, Kochi prefecture, southwestern Japan, where is strongly influenced by the Kuroshio Current.
